Microsoft Teams is now available for all Office 365 customers and brings chat and collaboration functionality, designed to simplify group working.
Teams brings everything together in a shared workspace– letting you work from anywhere and making it easy for your team to chat, collaborate on files, and work with favourite apps.
Teams is integrated with Microsoft's online Office suite Office 365, meaning it's tied into World, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Planner and of course SharePoint.
Teams also has two great features, "Connectors" and "Channels".
Connectors
A great way to push your app's rich content into Microsoft Teams. Any user can connect a team to services like Trello, GitHub, Bing News, or Twitter and get notified of the team's activity in that service. From tracking a team's progress in Trello to following important hashtags in Twitter, Office 365 Connectors help your team to stay in sync and get more done. You can even add actions to your content, turning them into actionable messages, so that users can complete tasks directly in the channel.
Channels
Are dedicated sections within a team to keep conversations organised by specific topics, projects, disciplines—-whatever works for your team! They're places where everyone on the team can openly have conversations. Private chats are only visible to those people in the chat. Channels are most valuable when extended with apps that include tabs, connectors, and bots that increase their value to the members of the team.
